Accounting Manager
We are seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee our accounting department's daily operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial procedures, ensuring compliance with accounting regulations for operations in Ohio, Nevada, and California.
Duties:
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manages the accounting staff who are responsible for billing, collections, accounts receivable, accounts payable and company credit cards.
Works with human resources on staffing for accounting staff and conducts performance evaluations.
Coordinates training programs for new staff and identifies training needs for current staff.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Follows and enforces established internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation.
Prepares business activity reports, bank reconciliations, and annual budgets with assistance from outside accounting firm.
Prepares journal entries, and manage the general ledger function.
Produces the LER (Labor Efficiency Reports) for billable vs. nonbillable hours.
Produces monthly financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.
Preparing cost Rate for the State of California for Contracted hourly rates.
Reviews all capital expense requests before submission to President for approval.
Suggests cost or budget efficiencies in current business structure.
Works with department leadership on billing process and classifications.
Audits accounts to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations; coordinates with outside accountants and auditors to provide needed information for the annual external audit.
Presents recommendations to management on short- and long-term financial objectives and policies.
Setting up new client accounts in QuickBooks for new projects.
Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:

FAR Audit Experience a plus.
Proficient in Quickbooks.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Experience in BQE CORE project software a plus, but not required.
Experience in a Construction Environment.
Lump Sum, Time, and Material Invoicing Experience
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
1-3 years or more of related experience required.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
