Civil Engineer, P.E.

Job Description:

The Civil Engineer Professional Engineer (PE) based in Cincinnati, OH, US will coordinate engineering operations along with architects, construction administrators, and surveyors. They must guarantee projects such as highways, buildings, and water supply systems are completed on schedule and within budget while making sure they are protected, effective, and ecologically sound.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and design various civil engineering projects, including roads, bridges, buildings, and water systems, in compliance with local and state regulations.

  • Conduct site visits and assessments to identify potential obstacles and develop solutions for proposed projects.

  • Prepare engineering reports and technical drawings, such as site plans, cross-sections, and maps, using computer-aided design (CAD) software.

  • Collaborate with other professionals, such as architects, construction managers, and surveyors, to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.

  • Review project plans and specifications, and provide guidance and support to construction crews and contractors during the construction phase.

  • Ensure that all projects comply with local and state regulations, and obtain necessary permits and approvals.

  • Conduct quality control tests on materials and oversee testing performed by contractors to ensure compliance with project specifications.

  • Manage project budgets and timelines, and prepare progress reports for clients and management.

  • Keep up to date with advances in civil engineering technology and techniques, and incorporate them into project designs and specifications.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and company policies.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.

    • Professional Engineering (PE) license in KY or OH or the ability to obtain one within six months of hire.

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering, preferably in Reno or the surrounding areas.

    • Expert knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices, including materials science, construction techniques, and structural analysis.

    • Proficiency in CAD software and other engineering tools.

    • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

    • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain.

    • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

  • Compensation: $62,800 - $107,856 yearly
