Two retention ponds are located at a shopping development in Hamilton, Ohio which are enclosed by a perimeter of segmental block retaining walls. During a heavy rain event, the east retention pond flooded over the entrance bridge and into the retained soil zone of the west pond. The flooding caused significant erosion of the retaining wall and backfill materials.

Civil Solutions coordinated with the development owners and onsite representatives to prepare a design for the retaining wall remediation. Our Construction Management department oversaw all aspects of drainage repairs, wall deconstruction and reconstruction, and landscaping restoration.
