Drafter

Job Description:

Developing visual diagrams and illustrations to demonstrate the proper construction of Civil Engineering projects. Working in partnership with an accredited Civil Engineer, this individual will join forces with other experts like architects, surveyors, and building supervisors to design accurate models and procedures for development operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Create detailed technical drawings, plans, and blueprints for civil engineering projects using computer-aided design (CAD) software.

  • Collaborate with licensed Civil Engineers, architects, surveyors, and construction managers to ensure that designs are accurate and meet project specifications.

  • Revise and update drawings and plans as necessary, based on changes to project specifications or other factors.

  • Use design software to create 3D models and simulations of projects to help visualize the final product.

  • Incorporate feedback from licensed Civil Engineers and other professionals to ensure that designs are functional, safe, and cost-effective.

  • Prepare and present technical drawings, plans, and blueprints to clients and stakeholders for review and approval.

  • Ensure that all designs and drawings comply with relevant codes, regulations, and standards.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all drawings and designs.

  • Keep up to date with advances in CAD software and other design tools.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or technical certificate in drafting or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

  • Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks.

  • Knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

  • Familiarity with relevant codes, regulations, and standards.

  • Willingness to continually learn and develop new skills.

Compensation: $20 - $30 hourly
