The construction project at the new River Downs on Kellogg Avenue was a major overhaul to the existing racetrack. The entire site was re-imagined as a gaming and racing luxury facility with updated infrastructure. Civil Solutions Associates designed five walls using Keystone Century Stone with a near vertical setback for the construction project. The walls provided needed grade separation. The multiple levels created entrance and exit from parking garages and access across the site. The multiple elevations, double sided walls, parapet walls and flood conditions were just a few of the design challenges for this project. Located along the Ohio River, it was necessary to design and evaluate the project for possible flood conditions and modify the standard wall application. Structures Hardscapes, from Hebron, Kentucky, installed the walls.
